A FEW UPDATES . . .
Time seems to fly amazingly fast, even in a slow economy. As I was looking at my calendar today I realized that we are well past the mid-year mark. If you evaluate your business yearly, this is probably a good time to look at what you did (and what you did not yet do) this year. This is also a good time to take a look at your personal goals, whether it has to do with relationships, fitness, health, finances, hobbies or passion. Remember, the things you said you would finally get to do this year? Something to think about. . .
As for me, or us, things have been busy…in a good way; My family and I went on a cruise in the first part of May. We all enjoyed it, and fortunately got back before the swine flu. As children grow and become more independent it seems it becomes more and more difficult to plan a vacation. Taking a vacation is however, worth the effort, money and time it requires. What really works well for me, in today’s limping economy, are short day-trips or even a few hours of disconnect from the life’s groove. They help refresh my soul and body.
My daughter Paula has been helping me with Brand Analysis studies. She’s also been helping as a marketing and communication coordinator for a non-profit, while still developing her career as a photographer. Early this year she launched her photography website www.biancaportraits.com and is now a featured photographer ranked #13 in the Sacramento area on www.decidio.com.
Walter, my older son, has now released his 4th song on iTunes. Check him out on iTunes. In fact while you’re at it, buy his songs, they rock! (shameless plug). This summer he’s busy doing gigs and promoting his recordings. Just today he texted me that some promoter in Nashville would like him to go do a showcase for a few record labels. He is buzzed!
My youngest, Lucas, follows suit pursuing his dream, doing a lot of jazz performances and ripping on his alto sax. In the last few weeks he played at the Mondavi center, Roseville Kaiser Permanente, William Jessup University, Carmichael Community Park Band Festival, Henry’s Restaurant in San Francisco. At the last gig he played with his best friend, backed up by the house band. He came home beaming with excitement! You can check out his music at www.lucasbere.com.
Each one of my three children are pursuing their dream with passion. Seeing the glow on their faces makes me wonder what the world would be like if all of us would pursue that which inspires us to greatness… And since we’re on this topic… what moves YOU? Perhaps you should give it some thought. Do the things that used to bring you joy and excitement still move you in the same way...?
